Okay, I'm ready to tell my story. 😅

Wedding Tiramisu

This was the hardest dessert I've ever had to make.
I'd never done it before, but that's true of most orders I get.

The cookies were light and sweet, but they weren't uniform.
The zabaglione took 4 tries, sugar from a friend, and all my brain power and patience.
The letters were nowhere near how they should've been.

The stencils I ordered came too late. The dish I ordered got sent back.
The top had to be below the rim of the subbed dish so it didn't ruin it, but it wasn't flush with the lip.
The Bride was so understanding and kind. It came out as good as could be expected.
The sweet couple & their guests loved it. That's what matters.

Beautiful things can come out of difficult circumstances.
I will be much better prepared next time though 💜

We've been moving, so I haven't really been baking. Night before last, I couldn't sleep & made Lemon Lime cookies for Graduation/Move Up Day at work. 💛💚 10/10 No Leftovers (This would be a humble brag, but I work with kids lol)

Manolo Betancur, the owner of Manolo’s Bakery in Charlotte, North Carolina, has spent more than a decade delivering free birthday cakes to people experiencing homelessness in his community. Calling them his “neighbors,” Betancur partners with a local nonprofit and regularly donates freshly baked sheet cakes so that unhoused people can celebrate their birthdays with dignity and joy. In addition to cake, the community events where the desserts are shared often include other forms of support like hot meals, haircuts, and small gifts, all offered with no questions asked. Betancur’s hope is that these simple celebrations bring connection, love, and a sense of worth to people who are often overlooked, reminding them, and the broader community, that everyone deserves to be seen and appreciated.
