In our farm revitalization, we are replacing any dead trees with grafted trees using liberica root stock and typica scion (top). The roots of liberica are more robust, grow longer, and are resistant to nematodes. Nematodes are microscopic roundworms that attack the roots of our trees and makes them more susceptible to disease, stunting their growth, and potentially killing them.

The history of coffee in Kona has been arabica typica coffee trees and we want to continue with the legacy of Kona Coffee. Our hope is to replace the entire farm with these grafted trees which will take several years. This process will ensure the longevity of Kona Crown Coffee so you can continue enjoying our coffee for years to come!
