Meet our newest staff member (well its been months)! She joins a very good group of pastry and cake staff!
✨ Employee Spotlight: Sadie ✨

My name is Sadie, and I'm 24 years old. I've probably been baking since I was 4 or 5 yrs old. It all started by decorating cookies with my family. As I got older, I graduated to rolling and cutting cookies, and from there my baking world continued to grow.

As a pre-teen and teenager, I taught myself many baking and decorating techniques through YouTube videos and watching The Great British Baking Show. I began making decorated cakes, cupcakes, and cookies for family, friends, and customers, and my passion for baking only grew stronger.

Later, I attended a technical high school where I was able to expand my knowledge of baking and cake decorating even further. During that time, I realized that this industry is about so much more than creating beautiful desserts. We create edible art that becomes part of life's most important moments.

Whether it's a birthday, wedding, graduation, holiday, or even a difficult time when people need comfort, baked goods have a unique way of bringing people together. Seeing the joy and connection that something handmade can bring to others is what continues to inspire me to learn, create, and improve every day.

Today, that little girl who loved decorating cookies gets to work in a real bakery and live out her dream job. I am so grateful to be part of the team at Lochel's Bakery and to help create sweet memories for our customers every day. ❤️🍰
