Snowmobile fatalities dropped in Michigan during the 2025-26 season, with the state tracking 13 deaths compared to 16 the previous season, according to preliminary figures from the Michigan Department of Natural Resources.

State officials attribute the decline in part to the DNR’s Ride Right safety campaign, which has expanded its reach across Michigan’s more than 6,300 miles of snowmobile trails in recent years.
