Some cookies are made for a crowd, and some for an event—but the best ones are made for someone special. ❤️

These oversized chocolate chunk cookies were baked with extra care for a wonderful lady who deserves a little sweetness in her day. Thick, soft, buttery, and packed with rich chocolate chunks, they came fresh from the oven and straight from my heart.

What I love most about baking is knowing that something I made might bring a smile, celebrate a moment, offer comfort, or remind someone they are loved. Because sometimes a cookie is more than a cookie—it’s a hug, a thank you, or a simple reminder that someone is thinking of you.

Took a much-needed break from unpacking boxes and creating order out of chaos in my new home… and decided to have a little fun with AI. I asked ChatGPT to create an image of my “alter egos” based on everything it knows about me — and somehow it captured the heart of Sweet Ruby’s perfectly so I thought I would share. 💕🍪

The dreamer.
The baker.
The nurturer.
The workaholic.
The encourager.
The woman rebuilding, growing, creating, and still finding joy in the middle of change.

Honestly, it made me smile because behind every cookie, cheesecake, cinnamon roll, and late night is a woman wearing a lot of hats… and pouring love into all of them.

Now back to unpacking boxes and trying to figure out where I put half my kitchen. 😂 But for a moment, this felt like a sweet little reminder of who I am and what I’m building.

I have created a flyer to pass out to my new neighborhood. Once settled I intend to go door-to-door introducing myself with this flyer and a small homemade treat as a giveaway. This neighborhood is new to Sweet Ruby’s so I thought it might be a perfect intro to my bakery. I am open to suggestions for improvement.

Many people ask how I decided on “Sweet Ruby’s” for my business name. It may seem silly to some, but I named it in honor of my late Yorkie, sweet Ruby.

Occasionally someone will order saying “Hi Ruby.” I don't correct them because it just warms my heart and makes me smile.

She was a permanent shadow when I baked and she was very special to me. I had a hard time losing her in 2016 due to leukemia, so honoring her felt appropriate. She wore pink a lot and was a real princess which explains the princess crown with an “R” in my logo.

Today, May 16, is my sweet Ruby’s 20th heavenly birthday. She brought so much love and laughter into my life leaving a paw print on my heart forever.

These custom graduation cookies were such a special order to create — every detail made to celebrate a huge milestone and sweet new beginning. 🎓✨ From the elegant designs to the personalized touches, this set was filled with excitement, pride, and lots of love from the kitchen at Sweet Ruby’s Cookies & More.

As many of you know, life is bringing some beautiful changes my way right now, so these will officially be my last custom order until July. Thank you all for the incredible support, encouragement, and love you continue to show my little bakery dream. It means more than you know. 🤍

I’ll still be sharing sweet moments along the way, but for now I’m taking a small pause as I prepare for my move into my new home and settle into this new season of life. I cannot wait to be back baking for you soon.

I will be out of my kitchen from 5/7-5/12. My oldest daughter and her fiancé are getting married this weekend. I have one order to complete when I return from my trip and then I move to my new house on 5/22. I will not be baking until July 1 to allow for me to get settled and organized. This is a big and scary step so I don’t want to overwhelm myself. Thanks for understanding.

As a reminder, I will be staying in Gallatin and continue baking for all of you.

One of the sweetest surprises about pickleball isn’t just the game itself — it’s the friendships that grow along the way. What starts as a few matches and friendly competition somehow turns into shared dinners, birthday celebrations, inside jokes, encouragement through hard seasons, and people who begin to feel like family.

There’s something so special about being surrounded by people who genuinely celebrate one another both on and off the court. These friendships are built through laughter, support, teamwork, and simply showing up for each other through life’s moments big and small.

And of course, when there’s a celebration, you know I’m showing up with something sweet. 💕 Being able to make a homemade cake for their special occasion made their birthdays even more meaningful to me. Baking for people I care about is one of the ways I show love, and it fills my heart to be part of these memories together.

Pickleball has brought so much more into my life than just a sport — it has brought friendship, community, laughter, and people who truly feel like family. Those are the real wins. Help me wish my friends, Jim, Kim, and Charlotte, Hally Birthday!
