120 CUPCAKES. OUT. THE. DOOR. 😍🧁✨

Yesterday I had the absolute pleasure of delivering 120 cupcakes to a dreamy little venue in Sweden, Maine! 🥂💗 There’s just something so special about getting to be a tiny part of someone’s big celebration!

The lineup was deliciously split between:

🍋 Lemon cupcakes topped with silky white chocolate buttercream
🍫 Chocolate cupcakes topped with chocolate + vanilla swirl buttercream
🌾 And one dozen gluten-free cupcakes to make sure some of the guests could enjoy the celebration, too! 💕

There’s nothing quite like seeing a whole table full of cupcakes ready to be part of a special day. 🥹🧁

💙🖤 Gotta go fast! 🖤💙

Happy 5th Birthday to Leo! 🎉🎂 And this birthday boy had a VERY specific request… BLUE RASPBERRY! 😂💙

For his big celebration, I got to create this 3D structured Shadow the Hedgehog cake! 🖤❤️‍🔥 This one was a vanilla sponge paired with delicious blue raspberry buttercream, because apparently we’re taking birthday cake flavors to the next level around here! 😆💙

And of course, we needed cupcakes to match! 🧁 Half were classic Funfetti, and the other half were—you guessed it—BLUE RASPBERRY! 💙😂

I absolutely love when kiddos know exactly what they want for their birthday cake, and Leo definitely knew his assignment! 😉🎂

Even though the cake competition was this past weekend… that didn’t stop me taking orders! 😂🔥

And this one was a BIG one — 15 DOZEN cupcakes (!!) plus a sweet little 5” three-layer cutting cake for the bride and groom! 💍💗

Everything was dressed in the prettiest blush pink + sea glass green palette, and I love how it all came together! 🥰

The cutting cake was raspberry sponge with vanilla buttercream — light, fruity, and absolutely delicious! 🍓

For the cupcakes, we had:
🧁 7½ dozen Strawberries-N-Cream with vanilla buttercream
🧁 7½ dozen Lemon Sponge with Blueberries baked right in, finished with vanilla buttercream 🍋🫐

15 dozen cupcakes. A three-layer cake. Right along with the competition weekend…(my cake plus helping to guide 3 kiddos with their cakes!) Apparently I don’t know how to take it easy. 😂😂

But honestly? I wouldn’t have it any other way! ❤️🔥 Thank you SO much for trusting Katie’s Kitchen with such a special part of your celebration!

Took 3rd place today! 🥉 lots of talent in that room, I’m grateful for the recognition, that’s for sure!
Kiddos didn’t place, but man oh man, am I SO proud of them!!

Tomorrow is the big day! My 2 youngest, my niece, and myself are competing in the Maine State Cake Decorating Championship!
Today, we had a visit from a reporter who works with News Channel 6, 207! They got a bit of video from the bakery and interviewed the 4 of us! 🤩 (They suspect it will air Wednesday 🤞🏻) They are going to finish up their story tomorrow at the event, so wish us luck!!

IT’S BAKING DAY!

Don’t forget to join us this Saturday for the Maine Cake Decorating Championship!
My 2 youngest kiddos and my niece, (and myself of course!) will all have cakes on display!

The day is going to be full of all kinds of fun activities for families! It’s going to be a great time!

🎂✨ ONE WEEK TO GO!! ✨🎂

The Maine State Cake Decorating Championship is officially ONE WEEK from today, and things are about to get BUSY in the bakery!! 😳🎂💗

This week will be filled with baking, decorating, practicing, planning, probably a little stress 😂, and LOTS of buttercream!

I’ll be working hard on my cake for the Professionals Division, but I’m not the only one competing this year! 🥹

My two youngest AND my niece are all entering cakes in the Juniors Division!! 🎉🎂💕

And while I can’t actually make their cakes for them (as much as I may want to sometimes 😂), I CAN coach them, help them troubleshoot, answer approximately 847 questions, and cheer them on every step of the way! 😆🙌🏻

I am SO incredibly proud of these kids for taking on the challenge and putting their creativity and skills to the test! Watching them learn, practice, problem-solve, and create their own cakes has been such a special part of this whole experience. 🥹💗

So…wish us luck!! 🍀🎂✨

We’ll be giving it our all this week and bringing our cakes to the competition next Saturday! I hope to see some familiar faces there cheering everyone on! 🫶🏻
