Rio Grande Mexican Restaurant has been serving the people of Colorado an escape from the serious since 1986. We started with one location and the belief that if you create a great place to work with quality food and a good, stiff margarita, people will come. We’ve been very fortunate to have made some good friends along the way with customers whom we call ‘regulars’ and they call the Rio their home away from home.

Choose your character. 👀🦎

Alebrijes originated in Mexico City, inspired by a vivid fever dream of brightly colored creatures made from different animals.

The art form later flourished in Oaxaca, where artisans hand-carve each creature from wood and paint every detail by hand.

Over the years, Pat has personally selected the alebrijes displayed throughout our restaurants during his travels. Each Rio has its own colorful collection and personality. 😉

After years of supporting the B Strong Ride, it was especially meaningful to join them for their final ride last Saturday. ❤️🚴

For 16 years, B Strong has brought the Boulder community together in support of local cancer care through the B Strong Center for Integrative Care at Boulder Community Health.

Our Boulder crew helped fuel the finish with made-to-order Rio burritos, fresh chips and scratch-made salsa. 🌯 💪

Huge thanks to the B Strong team, volunteers and everyone who made the final ride so special. We’re grateful to have supported this incredible event over the years!

Still feeling the love from yesterday’s FoCo Fondo!🚴‍♀️

The Rio has proudly supported Fort Collins’ cycling community for decades, and we loved being part of another weekend full of good people, good miles, and well-earned margaritas.

Thank you to every rider, volunteer, and supporter, plus a special shoutout to our Rio crew for braving the heat and keeping everyone cool with watermelon, Tajín, water, and shade. ☀️🍉💧
