Good morning coffee people! While we are still planning to attend the Mountain Home Farmers Market tomorrow, Saturday 10/3 (5th & Shiras, hours 7am-noon, though we usually arrive later closer to 8), we will have limited inventory and be selling first come first serve. We should be up to normal operations next week after I replace the failed thermocouple. Our little roaster has gone without a hitch for 3 years, so please excuse the small service hiccup! See you Saturday!

Saturday morning's weather looks good by today's forecast, but yesterday's said otherwise. We have stocked up our usual spread of coffee in hopes that it stays looking good! If you want to play it safe, submit a pickup order through our website or send us a direct message to reserve a bag, and we will make sure you get it, even if the weather turns upsidedown.

Hopefully we will see you Saturday at the Mountain Home Farmers Market!

If you'd like a free cup of freshly roasted, specialty grade coffee, a bag of the very same stuff, or something from another excellent local purveyor, come on down to the Mountain Home Farmers Market tomorrow, Saturday 4/25 from 7am-Noon, located at the lot on the corner of 5th St & Shiras St.

We will be on the southern border against the sidewalk, follow your nose! We will be serving up samples of our crowd favorite Guatemalan coffee, sourced from a women-owned farm co-op, roasted to a "diner cup of your dreams" medium color, boasting chocolatey smooth sips no matter how you brew it at home.

Ever wondered what happens when you ferment coffee in oxygen-free steel tanks? 🧪☕️

Our latest release from La Bastilla Coffee Estates in Nicaragua is a prime example of coffee innovation. By using an anaerobic yeast fermentation process, the sugars in the coffee cherry are transformed into incredibly complex flavor compounds.

The result? A bright, electrifying cup that tastes like: 🍍 tropical pineapple 🍏 green plum 🍯 light caramel 🍋with a zesty lemon-lime finish

Sourced from the misty highlands of Jinotega (1,300m+ altitude) and Rainforest Alliance certified. This is specialty coffee at its finest.

We are often asked health questions about our coffee, so I wanted to shout out my favorite coffee creator, James Hoffmann, as he recently released a video on YouTube covering both toxins and beneficial compounds in a wide range of coffee. 20 minutes boils down to this: regardless of the coffee you are drinking, you are unlikely to find any concerning amount of Ochratoxins (mycotoxin/*mold* toxin) or heavy metals in your morning cup. Whether you drink our specialty stuff or Folgers, you should be safe from drinking concerning toxins. That said, he found that specialty/artisan roasted coffee contains higher concentrations of CGA, the polyphenols that some advocate make coffee healthy. We're glad to have solid data to point to whereas previously much of this has gone untested in the coffee roasting trade.

I highly recommend James Hoffman as a source for reputable and entertaining coffee knowledge. Check him out, and consider ordering some of our new offerings from Nicaragua and Kenya!
