Others pave the way to build an industry.

We are celebrating Gene as he begins a well-earned retirement after more than 25 years with our family!

Before helping shape the beers you know and love at Lumberyard Brewing Co., Gene owned Homebrewers Outpost, where he inspired and mentored countless homebrewers. His passion for the craft didn’t just make great beer—it helped lay the foundation for the thriving craft beer our communities enjoy today.

Over the course of his career, Gene’s dedication and talent earned an incredible 7 World Beer Cup medals and 10 Great American Beer Festival medals—an achievement few brewers will ever match. But those medals only tell part of the story.

His true legacy is found in every brewer he’s mentored, every pint he’s perfected, every customer who’s raised a glass with friends, and every person fortunate enough to work alongside him.

Gene, thank you for your unwavering dedication, your craftsmanship, your humility, and for helping make Lumberyard what it is today. Your fingerprints are on this brewery, this community, and the craft beer industry throughout Northern Arizona.

Congratulations on your retirement. You have more than earned it, and you’ll always be a part of the Lumberyard family.

Some meals are meant to be shared... but we won't judge if you keep these all to yourself.

Our Taproom Nachos are piled high with crispy tortilla chips, melted Colby Jack, tomatoes, green onions, black olives, fresh jalapeños, cilantro, sour cream, salsa, and guacamole.

Make them your own with seasoned chicken, seasoned pork, or all-meat chili. Add black beans or Hatch green chili sauce, or order them vegan with plant-based cheese. However you build them, they're made for digging in.
