Tagging 216 head. About 60 cows. All fat and sassy. 10 bulls- we have a pair of “cuate”bulls. They are almost mirror images! Two horses. Previous owners say both geldings are rideable. This is from previous owners not sale barn. Pen of younger cows from one ranch. They are in good shape and have nice bone. Seems like this is the “copy and paste” section. Jackpot pens have some great blacks and reds. Calves are on the heavier side, very few smaller calves this week. Great selection. We have two yearling pens this week. Pen of black yearlings that came together and jackpot pen has some heavy good quality picks. Auction starts at 11:00 am. Saturday. We accept cattle until 10:00 pm tonight. Tagging 219 head. Good selection of cows. All colors, all shapes and sizes-something for everyone. About 5 bulls. We do have a Longhorn Bull that is quite impressive-huge horn spread!! One producer sent some great quality black steers and heifers! Great shape and slick haired. Jackpot pens have a nice groups of calves. Mostly around 400-500 lbs. not many smaller calves as of now. Tagging 198 head. Lots of good fat cows. Have a string of black younger cows. About 7 bulls. Yearling pen is full of nice boys-all chunky monkeys. We have 30 head of great quality steers and heifers from one ranch —avg 400-500 lbs. Jackpot pens have a variety of cuties. Blacks, reds and yellows all showed up this week. Mixed weights. Baby calf pen has some potentials. We will have more coming in tomorrow. Our auction could not happen without our employees! Tagging 156 head. About 8 bulls and 30 cows. Mostly fat and sassy. Yearling pen is full. Jackpot pens have good group of blacks-from one producer-tomorrow morning we will have a load of nice-mostly tiger striped- and red calves come in. The reds also showed up this week! They are nice!!! Also, a group of Brahman young cows! Come check them out! Already a lot of chatter about these ladies!! Our auction starts at 11:00 am we start accepting cattle at 8:00 am. NEWS RELEASE: Today, the Hidalgo County Commissioners Court adopted an order prohibiting roadside sales of non-livestock animals within the unincorporated areas of the county. The order becomes effective immediately.

The order bans the roadside sale of non-livestock animals along highways, roads and parking lots in unincorporated areas of the county. It also prohibits setting up any structure for the purpose of selling animals.

“This order reflects our responsibility to safeguard both people and animals,” said Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez. “Roadside sales create dangerous conditions for drivers and vendors, and contributes to problems with stray and abandoned pets. By enforcing this measure, we are prioritizing public safety, animal welfare, and the well-being of our community.”

Those found in violation of the order may face Class C misdemeanor charges, and every day of noncompliance counts as a separate offense. The county is also authorized to remove any structures used in violation of the order. County law enforcement and code officials will begin enforcing the order immediately.

The 89th Legislature recently amended and passed House Bill 2731, and the bill was signed into law on September 1, 2025, which gave the county authority to enact this order.

Tagging 340 head. The cows this week are in good shape— fat and slick. Couple good pairs with nice calves-mommas have good bags!! About 8 bulls at the moment. Yearling pen has quite a few yearlings in good shape. The calves are the stars this week! Great quality calves. Bull calves, steers and heifers. Weighting between 500 and 600 lbs. beefy and slick haired. Several different consigners-all colors represented. All weight classes covered! We are expecting another load of calves in the morning. Bc fb has limitations-😩-in a separate post I’ll post videos! Calves look great! Please check out the separate post. We accept animals until 10:00 pm Friday night. Saturday morning we start accepting calves at 8:00 am. Edinburg Livestock appreciates all our consigners! Our buyers are also very much appreciated!! Tagging 139 head on this somewhat cooler wet Friday. Have quite a few palpates. Cows for the most part are in good shape. Yellows showed up again this week. The pairs this week are also nice Good bags with beefy calves. The Brothers Longhorn showed up this weekend. Check out our pics for some wall hanging cuties. Bulls are well represented this week. Jackpot pens have some good crossbred reds that are beefy and ready to go. Some smaller calves in jackpot pens too. Grays and yellows. Accepting cattle tonight until 10:00 pm. Rain and mud have put a damper on numbers. Auction starts at 11:00 am Saturday. Thanks to all who trust Edinburg Livestock Auction to market their cattle.

Tagging 167 head. Couple nice cows in the back pens. Seems like we have a lot of cows this week! 👀. About 8 bulls. The yearling pen has some nice future bulls in it. Jackpot pens have a good group of fleshy blacks and reds. The blondes showed up this weekend!!❤️. Thankful for the rain! Keep it coming. We accept cattle until 10:00 pm tonight.
