The first is approving the project that would allow the Embassy hotel & convention center to be built. Look Up Rockford is a movement that promotes growth and will help to revitalize the heart of our city, downtown. The hope is that with the approval of the Embassy Hotel & Convention Center project, the city's downtown economy will thrive once again. This is just the first step of many that would promote growth but without this initial step all the rest won't be possible. This would bring the only major hotel and convention center to the downtown area. Not only does this bring a beautiful structure to our city but more importantly, it brings over 600 new jobs. The idea is that it won't stop there, as the city continues to grow around this project more new jobs will be created. The project if approved is led by the City of Rockford and major investors who see the potential and hope in this city. Investors as big as Warren Buffet have committed to investing in this project if it is approved. The movement Look Up hopes to rally the people of Rockford to come together to vote and harness an overwhelming support of the project from all parts of Rockford. This project is BIGGER then just a hotel, this project is about the people uniting for the City of Rockford.
