In addition to running The Bettersweet Baking Project 👩🏽‍🍳🍪, I volunteer with an environmental justice organization, Save The Aurora Reservoir. 💙 One of my main draws to this particular cause is it is a local matter where I felt I could have the greatest impact. As grueling as it is gratifying 😅, I quickly learned the threats of fracking and industrial development reach far beyond the area that I live in. This is an issue more communities around the state & country are waking up to and organizing on as we speak. 🗣️

Let April aka be a reminder about the importance of doing what we can, no matter how big or small, to protect our planet. 🌎 At a time when the overwhelming sentiment is “me, me, me” and “more, more, more”, we cannot forget that each of us is responsible for and owes a great deal of respect and care to our natural environment. 🌱 Let’s not get it twisted: it is not ours to take from, it is on us as humans to give back to. 🫶🏼

The Bettersweet Baking Project/Priti Patel is sharing the fine print details that can be easy to miss. Think of this as my way to fill you in on what you don't see about me and my small business.

A big thank you to everyone who has taken a chance on TBBP (including future customers! 😉) and for supporting me & my project (mission). ❤️

“Alone, we can do so little; together, we can do so much.” — Helen Keller 🤝🏽

This past weekend, The Bettersweet Baking Project/Priti Patel participated in a community mutual aid effort through Bakers Against Racism. TBBP had the honor of offering 🍪 Cookies For The Community 🍪 through a cleanup event at the Highline Canal Trail in Aurora, CO hosted by Aurora Parks, Recreation & Open Space, Fatblackandgettinit, .haraus and .

Over 300 Coloradans turned out for an incredibly powerful and moving example of people coming together to support a good cause. 🫶🏼 The energy was infectious and I am grateful that Nelson placed his trust in me and my small business to feed our community - thank you so much for your support! 🙏🏽

The beauty of small business means that connections often take place organically. Thanks to a referral by a thoughtful repeat customer, The Bettersweet Baking Project/Priti Patel recently had the honor of baking cookies for a Douglas County assembly event. TBBP was incredibly fortunate to be on display at John Padora’s () table and to support his campaign. I reached out to John afterwards to personally thank him, and he kindly responded by letting me know how much everyone loved the cookies! 🍪🤝🏽🥲

In today’s fast-paced world of convenience, it is easy to miss the “fine print” details. Cue in, small businesses, and in The Bettersweet Baking Project’s (TBBP) case, a home-based cottage food operation. What people don’t always get to see is the time, effort, love, thought and care that is put into every single order (Priti Patel).

In my kitchen, you won’t find premixed cookie dough, fancy commercial-sized equipment and appliances like your favorite brick and mortar bakery has, supply chain automation, bulk discounts for ingredients and supplies, or support staff of any kind.

What you will find, however, is one woman (me) who proudly wears ALL of the hats. I am passionate about providing my customers with high-quality scrumptious cookies that contain all-natural ingredients, and are free from artificial flavors, colors or preservatives. I am also wholeheartedly invested in my community and truly believe in the power of making a difference. Customer service and integrity are nonnegotiables and what helps my business grow organically.

To each and every one of you who has taken a chance on TBBP, and provided me with encouraging and constructive feedback, I am eternally grateful. Thank you for supporting my mission. I look forward to welcoming new customers as I move along this rewarding journey. Cheers to baking the world a better place! 👩🏽‍🍳🍪🌎🫶🏼

Happy International Women’s Month! What a full circle moment this day is for me. Two years ago, my husband Ketal Patel’s employer Fivetran took a chance on me (Priti Patel) and gave The Bettersweet Baking Project its first order and marked my official launch. 👩🏽‍🍳🍪

Today, I walked into that downtown Denver office with not only a few years of experience behind me, but a newfound sense of confidence as a small woman-owned business. I am so grateful for their continued support of TBBP. 🫶🏼

Here’s to all the bad, bold, visionary and boundary breaking women who work(ed) tirelessly in order to gain equality in all of the spaces that we occupy. Let’s continue fighting the good fight and keep bringing awareness to this important matter. 💪🏽

Every story is important and deserves to be heard. This is mine. My small business The Bettersweet Baking Project is an extension of who I am - as a person, what I believe in, what I stand for, and what is important to me.

Thank you for being here and for supporting me & my project (mission). ❤️

As The Bettersweet Baking Project (TBBP) enters Year 3, I am reflecting on the growth I have experienced personally and professionally since the early prepandemic days in 2020 when this small business was nothing more than a concept. 💡 Fast forward to the present - I have celebrated the highs, faced some challenges, and mustered up the courage to get back up and try again many times. 💪🏽

In 2025, I began my journey as a volunteer with a local nonprofit Save The Aurora Reservoir, an environmental justice organization. 🌎 I had the sweet honor of partnering with them for two community bake sales. 👩🏽‍🍳 These collective experiences quickly reminded me of the power of community: people from many different walks of life coming together to support a common, good cause. 🤝🏼 It was a life changing year with plenty of valuable lessons.

Although me and my small business have evolved, a few things remain unchanged. I continue to bake cookies 🍪 made with high quality ingredients, all natural flavors, colors and preservatives. 🌱 Plus, I am constantly guided by a strong set of morals and TBBP directly reflects my values, inspiring me to do the work that I do. This is what I like to call “a better way to treat yourself”.

My goal for this year is to continue to give back to my community by supporting social causes that are near and dear to my heart. ♥️ With that spirit of humanity in mind, I am excited to share TBBP’s newly redesigned menu [see links on page]. We are open for orders and have a number of exciting things in the works, so please stay tuned! As always, I truly appreciate your support of my community-focused small business.

Bettersweet wishes,
Priti
