Hello my friends. We are looking for a local farm that can provide us with produce. We are trying to keep it local and organic. Looking for Green onion, Vidalia onion, chives, microgreens, garlic, and basil. If you or anyone else you know grows these please comment or tag them. Need to be able to meet with us so we can see the products and be registered through the state. We are willing to come pick up as long as its not a crazy distance from Bettendorf IA.

Whoooowa. What a day. What a week.

This week was by far the longest I have had in awhile. Maybe ever. Non stop is an understatement. From 5 to maybe 4 hours of sleep a night. 15 hour days of prep, heartache from an unfortunate event. I woke up this morning. Defeated. My alarm went of at 4:45 I woke up and said F this. I didn't want to do today. At all. I worked up the courage to roll out of bed telling myself. I'm not giving today my fullest. In retrospect. I had already given up and I hadn't even walked out the door. I loaded up and headed to the market. I knew I was under staffed for it so I was rushing. Adding to the stress. I come back from unhitching my trailer and there is my boy larry. Wasn't supposed to work today but he showed up anyways. And worked his ass off. My other chef was right there with him. My front of house girls were killing it right off the get go. We were pushing food out faster then ever. We had our biggest hour and sold out of 45 pounds of potato bowls in 2 hours. At this point I am realizing that I need to be greatful. But I still have a wedding to cater in 3 hours. We load up and leave. As I'm coming back to my kitchen to grab the food for the wedding Im starting to feel better about the day. I enter my trailer and sh*t you not a bungee cord snaps and hits me directly in my eye. This isn't a bungee chord that you put around a small fixture to keep it together. It's an industrial bungee cord that is holding back 275 lbs of weight. I see the typical bright flash and immediately see the typical bright flash and immediately fall to my knees.

Fearing the worst, I grabbed my eye. Thinking that either I am headed to the hospital or i'm probably not going to see again. I placed my hand up to my eye and I can already feel it swelling up.

My son rushed to see if I was ok. With my eyes closed I asked "how bad is it"
He replied. It could have been worse.

I walk into to my house and turn the bathroom light on and come to the realization that if it would have been 1 inch lower. It could have done a lot more damage. I looked at him and he looked at me and we hopped in the car, trailer loaded and headed to the catering. Laughing pretty pretty much the entire way holding my daughters elsa disney ice pack from when she was 3 on one eye and sweat rolling down the other.

We arrive at the wedding. It is beautiful. It was supposed to rain. And it never did. Which at that point was literally the light that I needed to see. Me and son set up for service. Knowing I was in a s**t ton of pain. He tells me he's got this. And absolutely crushed it. The food came out flawless. Everyone was happy. Including me. But especially my boy. I realized that he was just excited to be with me. Working his butt off in 90° next to his banged up dad.

In conclusion. Today started as horrible as I let it be. But when I changed prospective. It was one of my favorite days that I will cherish for the rest of my life.
