Brandon is protective, keeps peace in the flock, and does his job well—but he used to make tending the hens impossible! My game changer? I cover him, give him a few treats, and take care of the ladies in peace. When I’m done, I walk him back outside and release him.

Driving down I-35 in Denton, I saw a woman chasing a chicken on the side of the highway. She had stopped to save it, and I immediately pulled over and ran after them.

We ended up stopping 3 lanes of traffic to catch her. The woman didn’t even know where the chicken came from—she just saw her in danger and stopped to help.

She gave her to me, and I can promise she’ll live a life of chicken luxury. 😂❤️ She even laid an egg in my lap on the way home!

To the mystery woman: YOU are awesome! This is what’s good about the world. If you’re kind enough to save a life—whether it’s a chicken, mouse, or elephant—you’re on my team. 🐔❤️
