A trip down South...

I got out just before the storm, but am set to travel again today. 🤷

Moms checkups went great. My Godchild (Lilly) made us dinner 💕 and we celebrated my younger brother's birthday 🥳 with a store bought cake. 🤭 The kiddos said it was one of his favorites, and really there was no time for baking.

On my way out I spotted this momma duck getting her ducklings swim-ready. The street flooding rolled in like a parade down Canal Street. ⚜️⛈️ Prayers for those that got damage from the storm.

I can't thank this sweet family enough for choosing me to be a small part of the wedding celebration.

Joie provided the gorgeous flowers and Hannah and her team @ SomethingBorrowedEventCompany ensured everything ran smoothly. It was fun hearing the band warming up as I decorated too. 🎶

Here's a toast to the newlyweds...may you have many happy years together. 🥂

This is just a small part of the planning for a tiered cake I was focused on for this past weekend. It's a whole lotta batches portioned out right there. Throw in a busy week of travel ✈️ and my social media has been stashed on the back burner. 🤷

Road trip! 🚙

When the supplies needed for an order created this road trip, I had no idea I was in for such a treat! Apparently there are Deer 🦌 a short distance Northwest of us. I saw Longhorn cattle, donkeys, horses, and goats too.🐐

I know this may be a regular day for some, but it was a treat for this city girl.

A little sun and it's alright. ☀️

After a stormy night, it's nice to see the rays. Turn up the volume just a tad for a relaxing minute. I took the video to show my mom the turtle and thought you all might like a little zen. ⛲ I know I do.

Don't mind my garden, it needs some attention and I haven't been up for it. 🫣☺️

It's National Donut Day which started by the Salvation Army in 1938 to honor volunteers serving the fried treats to soldiers in the front lines. 🪖❤️🤍💙

Simple Carrot Cake. 🥕

The last cake to round out May was this simply frosted one with pecans & cream cheese frosting. A sweet customer ordered it for her hubby a day early since I was unavailable the first of June.

Did you know my cakes are baked fresh to order and I've made this same recipe since high school?! That has certainly stood the test of time. 🤣 Back then a restaurant had me make them every week, but always without frosting. They added raspberries, whipped cream, and a mint sprig and it sold like hotcakes!

Whether you like simple frosting, no frosting, or let me do my thing, it's nice to have choices. I found in Texas, folks like all kinds of additions to the batter. 🤷

Grab these before they melt away. 🤣

Have you guys seen the viral trending Dot Cakes? I usually don't follow trendy items, but these keep popping up and here they are.

My version today is a 4" Carrot Pecan Cake with Cream Cheese frosting and nonparelles (sugar dots). I've got just two that are over an 8 oz portion for $8 each.

I also have a few Vanilla Almond Sugar Cookies with white Almond Buttercream and sanding sugar for a festive and simply sweet treat. These are about 3 inch cookies in assorted colors 4 for $12.

I have a limited window for pick up, so please let me know if you'd like to claim these ASAP. Coppell pick up by appointment only. Thank you and enjoy your Sunday!
