Today is a pretty special day. Giovanni’s Dillicious Pickles is 6 YEARS OLD. 🥒
Six years ago, this whole crazy thing started with a pregnancy craving for a pickle. My little brother took that craving and somehow turned it into an actual business, starting with a food truck in my mom’s driveway. And honestly, none of us had any idea what was coming.
In the beginning, we heard things like, “Pickles? That’ll last six months.” Well… six months came and went. Then a year, two, three, four, five, and today we’re celebrating SIX YEARS.
Somewhere along the way, Giovanni’s became so much more than a pickle business. It became a community. We’ve done back-to-school drives, Christmas drives, helped families who lost everything in fires, supported nursing home residents, collected donations and created programs to help people when they needed it most. But the best part is, we didn’t do those things. YOU DID. We simply gave our community a place to come together, and you showed up every single time.
Then February happened. The flood. We lost our Croydon location, equipment, money and time, and we’ve been navigating obstacle after obstacle ever since. Just like we heard “Pickles? That’ll last six months” six years ago, we started hearing, “Well, it was great while it lasted.” There were moments when we thought maybe it was time to walk away. My partner in life and business wanted to walk away from it all, and honestly, I understood why.
But then our community showed up.
You reminded us why we started. You reminded us what Giovanni’s meant to you. You followed us to New Hope. You told us you weren’t ready to say goodbye. So we kept going. We found a new home, opened our doors again, and we’re still here.
We have some of the best damn staff who have stood beside us through the best of us and the absolute worst of us. And then there are five little pairs of eyes watching everything we do. Five kids who have watched the long days, late nights, stress, tears, celebrations, failures and victories. And when those kids look at us and are proud, that’s everything.
So from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU. Thank you for every jar you’ve bought, every post you’ve shared, every friend you’ve brought, every review you’ve left, every donation you’ve made, every time you’ve checked on us, defended us, supported us and simply told us to keep going.
Six years. SIX YEARS. And somehow, after everything… we’re still here.
