Dear Concord,
I honestly don’t even know where to start….it has truly taken me this long to wrap my head around the horror, that I witnessed last night. We all look forward to this wonderful celebration every year. Last night started with excitement and joy, just like a Hallmark Christmas Movie (as someone else described it). And it was…until it wasn’t! Unfortunately, last night, we all observed the absolute worst of humankind, but we also caught a glimpse of the very best of our community. As I held our shop door open for people seeking refuge, I saw our CPD officers running toward the gunfire, neighbors helping neighbors find family, strangers helping strangers looking for shelter. Compassion and love stood strong in our beautiful Downtown Concord, and I am so proud to be part of that. I pray for those who were hurt, and I pray for the heart of those that did the hurting. I pray for all those who have been affected by this tragedy, especially children who should never have to see such evil. Thank you to all our friends, who checked on us. We Stand Strong with our Downtown Community!!
