An update about donations, our new I.C.E. OUT special, and our Community Fund.

First! What’s the I.C.E. OUT Latte? It’s got warming flavors of caramel and cinnamon, with your choice of milk, and it’s served hot or room temperature since we don’t f**k with ICE. It’s vegan friendly, and $7 for 12oz or $8 for 16oz, with all the money we make from it going directly to and for their mutual aid efforts for those impacted by I.C.E.

Along with our special, are also selling “F**k I.C.E.” posters designed by .arts for $1.50 with proceeds also going to .

Second! We are donating the entirety of our Community Fund since Jan. 22nd to and , for a total of $147.75. As of today, all the money we make from our I.C.E. OUT Latte & posters will replace our Community Fund redirect, and our Community Fund will go back to its original purpose of providing free drinks and food for anyone who needs it.

Third! Starting tomorrow, we’ll be streamlining our Community Fund to be a flat 10% of all tips received, with the other 90% going directly to baristas. After doing the math, the Community Fund was being used at about the rate of 10% of tips already, so now it’s all one button (just tips) and the Community Fund lives on in a simple and steady way.

For even more transparency, we took a vote last year and decided to transition to a tipping model where our baristas make $8-$9 per hour plus tips depending on responsibility, with a guaranteed minimum of $15-$16 per hour no matter what. This is our effort to maintain our values of community and accessibility, while also bringing our business into more financial stability so that we can stick around for the long haul.
