background in Marketing and corporate experience in Marketing and Special Events, I was always either working with graphic designers or part of the design process. When I created all of the materials for our wedding, my husband keep urging me to start a side business, but I always knew that this work could never be "just" a side business. When my daughter was turning 2, I was only freelance consultant at the time and after designing all of her party items, my shop was born. Never in a million years did I think my little "side" business would become my very busy and thriving full time business! Being able to stay at home with my kids has been a wonderful experience and challenging at the same time with a shop that's open 24/7. I always seem to manage to find the time to juggle both home life and the 150-200 clients per month that I service. I absolutely love designing and creating items, especially knowing that my pieces are making other people's events even more special. I have a zillion more ideas in my head and not enough time to list them all! i love chatting with my customers, so give me a shout!

Our expectations of what work/life balance should look like has changed and the traditional 9 to 5 corporate job has not kept up with the changes. We now have people across different generations like Gen X, Millennials, and even Gen Z, who are not tolerating the traditional corporate structure.

Everybody wants to work. Everybody wants to make money. And everybody wants a path for their future. Our lives are busier than ever and we juggle more than any other time period in history.

We’re not career confused. We’re questioning how we want to spend our time. Our expectations have changed. And that is the real crisis.

DAY 4: Can you imagine what it must feel like to generate $1.2M in just a few days?! The concept is bananas and the truth is I’ve seen quite a few creators hit some unreal goals. As a marketer by trade, this process fascinates me but as a woman I LOVE seeing other women win. is a perfect example of how to build an audience and give the people the one thing they really want. I’ve drank the koolaid guys, and I am all in on this challenge

DAY 2: Someone dropped a question a few months ago and I genuinely could not answer it.

Introduce yourself without mentioning your job, your kids, or your role.

I sat there and came up with absolutely nothing. And I have a marketing degree. I have built businesses. I have been introducing myself at events and school pickups and networking dinners for two decades.

And I had nothing.

Because somewhere along the way I stopped being a person and started being a function. Mom. Business owner. Wife. Volunteer. The one who handles it.

We do this thing where we think we are describing ourselves but we are actually just listing our obligations.

So I have been sitting with this question for a while now and I want to ask it to you.

If you had to introduce yourself with zero mention of what you do or who you take care of… what would you say?

I am not asking to be deep. I am asking because I think a lot of us are overdue for the answer. Drop it below. Seriously. Let’s actually do this.

DAY 2: funny story. I did record a yapping video. This isn’t it. This is me, distraught, over an incident that happened to a sweet elderly man today. The gratitude he expressed to me for helping him with was so sweet but also so sad that he was dismissed by the Amazon worker who could have literally taken two seconds to show him how to pull up his QR code. Let’s take care of each other. If you see someone needing help, step in. Kindness is free. The cold and dismissive behavior of the Amazon worker was very upsetting to me but I’m also so so thankful that it was me standing in line too because not one other person moved to help him out. Remember - one day you might just find that it’s you needing help and I’m sure you will be thankful for the attention and kindness of others.

Nobody tells you when you start disappearing. You just look up one day and don’t recognize the life you’re standing in.

Somewhere between car rider line, packing lunches and activities pickups, I got lost. I didn’t go missing all at once. I just kept saying yes to the wrong things until the right ones didn’t fit anymore.

And the thing is I didn’t even notice until I went to - that concert energy woke me up and all of a sudden I realized I hadn’t really been living, I’d just been going through the motions. Then I realized I’d been saying “no” to a lot of fun stuff for a really long time.

“I am simultaneously the most crucial and least important person in my household”

“The last 11 years I learned to appreciate cold coffee”

“My phone contacts aren’t names, they are ‘x’s mom’”

“My idea of ‘me time’ is sitting in the car for five extra minutes”

“My bag doesn’t have a brush or makeup, it has wipes and toy cars”

“Being deeply brainwashed into hating your body as it has been devalued after having served it’s only purpose in the scope of patriarchy logic”

“Taking a shower requires programming and even the last reserves of strength I have at 11:55pm”

“Great photos of the family on vacation and apparently I wasn’t there unless I took selfies of all of us where I didn’t even quite make it into the frame”

“This morning, I said ‘I am allowed to eat fruit too’”

“I haven’t slept more than three hours in a row in a long time”

“I don’t bother making a plate for myself because I know I’ll be full after finishing everyone else’s leftovers”

The only positive response:
“I feel way more confident in my skills and proud of my body than I did 10 years ago”

And here’s the thing, I totally get every single one of these. I totally understand what it is like to feel small, invisible, unimportant. Feeling like you need something too often feels self indulgent but we’re running ourselves into the ground, ladies.

Packing isn’t hard because you’re choosing what to bring. It’s hard because you’re choosing who you’ll be when you get there. Every trip is a chance to dress for a version of yourself you haven’t met yet. I know you do this too, drop me a comment if you get lacking paralysis because you’re bought all new clothes

I built a Top 1% Etsy business and nobody talks about what that actually means. It means waking up without an alarm. It means saying yes to the trip. It means your income working for YOU. This is the side of financial freedom they don’t put in the brochure. If you’ve been thinking about starting your own business shop, this is your sign.
