With 60+ locations across the country, Painted Tree Boutiques has left thousands of small businesses, including ours, facing heartbreak, stress, and uncertainty.

So many of us poured our hard-earned money, time, and everything we had into building something special for our families and our future—only to be completely blindsided. March sales, April sales, and deposits were held, and then bankruptcy was announced after April rent had already been collected. It’s devastating.

What I will hold onto from this experience is the community. I’ve met some of the most creative, resilient, and inspiring small business owners along the way, and my heart is with each of them and their families as we all try to figure out what comes next.

It’s been a week since we found out, and I’m still in shock.

⸻

Painted Tree’s National Closure has brought a lot of unknowns and some big changes for our business after losing our main Colorado location. While we’ve been figuring out our next steps, something really meaningful came our way.

A reporter from Univision, Laura, reached out because she wanted to highlight the impact the Painted Tree closure has had on so many small businesses and families. During that conversation, she also shared that she connected with our story and the mission behind Bombitas—uplifting and inspiring other Mom’s, Latina’s and entrepreneurs to keep going after their dreams.

She asked us to be part of the story and help represent what so many vendors are feeling right now—the challenges, the emotions, and the reality behind the scenes.

It’s moments like this that remind me to trust the process, even when things don’t make sense. We’re holding onto faith and continuing to move forward.

We’re so grateful for every message, every share, and every bit of support from our community. This isn’t an easy chapter, but we’re not facing it alone ❤️

Painted Tree Boutiques collected April rent from vendors across the country, and then filed Chapter 7 and closed all locations. So many small businesses, families, and dreams were impacted overnight.

As a small, mom-run business, this one hits deep. But if anything, it’s reminding me why I started Bombitas in the first place — for my family, to show my kids what resilience looks like, and to build something that can support not just us, but be part of something meaningful in our community.

We may be small, but we have big dreams. We’re working toward getting Bombitas on the shelves of Colorado grocery stores and into the hands of the local mom-and-pop shops that make our communities so special.

Please keep all the vendors affected in your prayers. So many of us are just trying to make it, and moments like this don’t just impact businesses — they impact families.

To everyone who has supported us, shared us, or believed in us — thank you. It truly means everything.

Please watch our story and help share our journey so we can get Bombitas in front of the right people who can help guide us toward the next step: getting into grocery stores and expanding into the places we’ve been working toward.

We’re going to keep showing up, keep pushing forward, and keep trusting that the right doors will open.

Proudly made right here in Denver, Colorado 🤍

Painted Tree Boutiques closed all 60 stores nationwide, leaving vendors like Kristina Camacho of Bombitas Spice Bombs scrambling to recover merchandise.
