I did a thing. After entirely too much caffeine, Canva confusion, Printify confusion, Etsy confusion, and several moments of wanting to throw my laptop into traffic... (Truly, I thought about it.)

My first sticker is live. 💀

As someone who works in spaces of grief, legacy, remembrance, and storytelling, I know how important it is to honor the truths of the past.

Today, I pause to recognize Juneteenth and the significance it holds for so many.

May we remember. May we learn. May we celebrate freedom, resilience, and the lives and stories that have shaped our communities.

Happy Juneteenth.

A while since you’ve called.

A while since you’ve checked in on someone who matters to you.

Say hello.

Tomorrow has a way of becoming a month ago.

And we often underestimate the power of a few moments freely given.

Hey Crystal, “Why do you talk about death and dying so much?”

I’m glad you asked.

It's not because we (death doulas) are trying to make you uncomfortable.
(Okay... some of us might enjoy making you squirm just a little. 🙋🏻‍♀️🤭It’s me, I like the squirm)
But mostly?

We talk about death because we👏🏻love👏🏻life.
We want you to make the phone call.☎️
Have the conversation. 🗣️
Take the trip 🧳
Say "I love you." 🥰
Do the thing you've been putting off for years. 📋 ✅

We talk about death because we've seen what happens when people are running out of time. ⌛️
We've sat with regrets. 🥺
We've witnessed things left unsaid or things left undone.
We've watched families wish they had just one more conversation. Hell, most of us have been there ourselves. I certainly have. 🙋🏻‍♀️

So when your friendly neighborhood death doula brings up death at the dinner table, it's not because we're obsessed with dying.

It's because we're passionate about helping people truly live.
We want you to love this time here as much as we do.
