Hey folks in the Beloit area, Liz and I were asked to vend some delicious Half Smoked BBQ this Saturday in Chautauqua Park after the Memorial Day parade this Saturday morning the 26th. We will have pulled pork, BBQ beans, coleslaw, chips, and cookies. We have enough for about 150 people, so be sure to come down to the park right away! Please share! Josh Fixsen

I've had several people ask me to teach them how to smoke meats, make sausage, etc. Thinking of putting on a one or two day class this coming spring. I wanted to see if anyone out there would be interested in attending and what kind of things you'd like to learn. Would most likely be held at the Beloit Country Club so we could drink some beers and have a good time in the process. Let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Thanks!! Josh

Had a great catering job today for the Kansas Forest Sevice. Those lumberjacks can put down some food now! Lots of great compliments and conversation.

Half Smoked BBQ would like to announce that it will be incorporated into Padens Place LLC, in Ellsworth, KS for their Fri/Sat evening specials. This begins Sat. Evening when Aaron takes ownership March 1st. These specials will be served on a first come basis.

I haven't posted or updated anything for some time, but Aaron and I are both still cooking. I'm in Beloit, and he's still in Ellsworth, so give one of us a call if you're wanting some BBQ.

I guess I forget to mention it, but Team Half Smoked BBQ finished 11th overall out of 37 team at the Hays Blues & BBQ a couple weeks ago. We got a 9th place call in pork, 15th in ribs, 15th in brisket, and 26th in chicken with crappy chicken to start with. Big thanks to Mike & Gennie at Mike's Septic Service, Jason & Teresa at Heartland Tank Service, and Mike & Betty at Slechta Enterprises for sponsoring us!!! Congrats to JP Custom Smoke on the Grand Championship. They've been tearing it up this year on the BBQ circuit and are currently the #4 team in the USA out of overal 4000 teams that compete!
