Getting four people to agree on one dinner order can be harder than choosing the restaurant. 😂 One person wants dumplings, somebody wants noodles, another is thinking about fried rice, and there is always someone asking for something spicy. At Little Lantern Dumplings & Noodles, there is really no reason to make everyone agree. Order a few different things, put everything in the middle, and let the table sort itself out. Dumplings, lo mein, fried rice, vegetables, and an entrée or two can turn into a meal where everybody finds something they like. The funny part is that the person who says, “I’m only eating what I ordered,” usually ends up trying half the table anyway. That is what sharing is for.

This one is for the person at the table who always says, “I can handle spicy.” 🌶️ Sichuan Boiled Beef brings plenty of bold flavor, so having rice nearby is a very good idea. Add something cool or refreshing on the side and go back and forth between the two. When several people are eating together, not every dish needs the same level of heat. Keep something spicy on one side of the table and dumplings, vegetables, or milder favorites on the other. Everyone gets to eat at their own comfort level — and the friend who has been talking about their spice tolerance finally gets a chance to prove it. 😂

Some dishes practically ask for a bowl of rice next to them. Braised Beef with Potatoes is one of those dishes. It is hearty, savory, and easy to put in the middle of the table when the family wants something everyone can reach for. Add vegetables and a couple of smaller dishes and there is no need to overthink the rest of dinner. Chinese food is often more fun when nobody guards one plate as “theirs.” Pass things around, try a little of what someone else ordered, and see which dish quietly becomes the table favorite.
