Dave has a partnership with the Prince William County Animal Shelter, donating all tips to sponsor hard to adopt dogs and cats (senior and special needs are a priority). He covers the adoption fees, spay/neuter costs, and (when needed) additional medical care for animals he sponsors. Since April 2015, Dave's Dogs has helped find new homes for nearly 700 dogs and cats at the shelter, thanks to the incredible generosity of customers' donations to our "NOT TIPS" jar.

Dave and Karen want to send a very, very heartfelt thank you to everyone who came by October 16-18 and either bought one of our Bakes for Breast Cancer desserts or donated to "not tips" for it. Because of our amazing customers, Dave's Dogs was able to almost double what we donated last year. Dave added a little extra from his own pocket and we will be sending $500 to support breast cancer research. See bakesforbreastcancer.org.

Happy Sunday! Dave's open 11am-4pm at Tractor Supply (14700 Silverdale). We have our full menu, but it's also the last day of our special desserts for Bakes for Breast Cancer, with 100% of dessert proceeds going to support breast cancer research. The strawberry cupcakes with cream cheese frosting ($6) were such a hit yesterday (we sold out early--thank you all for your generosity) we stayed up late to make more cupcakes last night, plus we are adding Rocky Road brownies ($4) as a second donation option. Both guaranteed delicious plus it's for a very good cause.

Happy Saturday! Dave's open 11am-4pm at 13478 Minnieville. In addition to our regular menu (everything's delicious), it's the second day of our special desserts for Bakes for Breast Cancer, with 100% of those proceeds going to support breast cancer research. Today we have homemade jumbo strawberry cupcakes topped with strawberry cream cheese frosting for $6, made in memory of Karen's very good friend and colleague Carla Howery, who died in 2009 after a long courageous battle with breast cancer.

You may remember that Xander was one of the cats with the "old numbers" (indicating he had been at the shelter before) we posted about a couple of weeks ago. Here's his full story and why this "barn cat" never belonged in a barn after all. He really deserves the happy ending he's waited way too long (years!) to find. He's already neutered and he's being sponsored (and his adoption fees paid) by PWAA. If Xander might be right for your heart and home, please go meet this beautiful boy!

For the third year in a row, Dave's Dogs is very proud to be a participant in the annual Bakes for Breast Cancer. We will be highlighting a special dessert each day coming Friday-Sunday (October 16-18) and 100% of the proceeds from those desserts will be donated to https://bakesforbreastcancer.org/ to fund breast cancer research. There probably isn't anyone that hasn't been personally affected by this insidious disease (or lost a friend or family member to it). We have and it's an important cause for us.

We will also be donating all of the donations to our "Not Tips" jar for those three days to the same good cause.

If you are unable to come by this weekend, you can also donate to this online or by mail. See https://bakesforbreastcancer.org/donate/.
