I absolutely LOVE THIS PICTURE with this little girl having her 1st visit The SmartyPantsChefs Stay & Play Cafe!
Her mom said she didn't like to eat her veggies at home. Once I placed that Chef hat on her head and I tied her apron on.....the FUN HANDS ON ACTIVITY did it's magic with this lil' chef! Her eyes got bigger and her smile was radiant! I showed her a crinkle cutter and gave her the job of cutting the carrots for our Edible Veggie Salad! She told me she was okay and could cut the carrots by herself! I cut a few and told her she could test taste a few pieces.

I went over to visit the vegetable scrubber a young man who was also a 1st. time visitor to the SmartyPantsChefs' Stay & Play Cafe!
I asked the carrot Chef to bring her contribution to the washing station. She said, "I don't have anymore carrot circles Ms. Chef Donna." What happened? Did they spill over? Well, you told me to taste a few and well....I hope you won't be upset Ms. Chef Donna, I ate all of the carrots I cut....they tasted sweet and I just kept tasting and then Ihad eaten them all! I'm so sorry Ms. Chef Donna. Are you going to kick me out of the SmartyPantsChefs Stay & Play Cafe, Ms. Chef Donna? Are you mad , are you angry and going to tell my mom what I did? No, I'll let you tell your mom okay?
My lil' Chef said okay and helped put everthing away. Her mom and I just laughed awhile after she called her husband and told him their daughter ate all of the vegetables. Her dad told his wife to see if they could purchase a few so their lil'girl could have at home?

I pass out some of the tools we teach the hands on lessons with. This family was so pleased they gave me a generous tip to go and purchase more crinkle cutters if the picky eaters like their daughter will change their habits!

Cooking With The Cat book is a great addition to this project based learning Lesson for Preschoolers to 3rd grade!
