Hi, friends! I am back and ready to take orders again from September onwards.

Was an eventful summer! I don’t do logos on cakes usually due to trademarks but made this one for my eldest twins so all good, and was one of the last cakes I made before I took a break! 😃

I also returned to South Africa to run my 8th ComradesMarathon (the world’s oldest and largest ultramarathon event). It is a 53.3 mile road run with a 12 hour time limit.

I hadn’t run Comrades in 12 years, so was a little apprehensive going back, but was very happy to finish it in a time of 10:53.

I ran for Rise Against Hunger Africa and with the generous support of friends and family in Aledo and South Africa, raised enough money for 3,208 meals for children and families in need. Thank you to all who contributed to my charity fundraising!!

Here’s to another year of making beautiful cakes, and training for my next ComradesMarathon!

Hi, friends! I have a few more orders to fulfil for May, but will not be accepting any new orders until August.

Next month, I will be running a 56 mile ultramarathon in South Africa, the ComradesMarathon. It is the world’s oldest and largest ultramarathon event. I will be running to raise money for RiseAgainst HungerAfrica — providing nutritious meals to those in need. I have completed this race 7 times, but took a break the last few years while my kids were still little. *Sound On for more insight *

As a mom of two sets of twins, I understand the importance of each child having things that are solely theirs. So often, multiples are associated as a pair/group and not as individuals with their own unique qualities.
I have made plenty of “twin” cakes for my own kids, and for other twins, but this cake was a unique challenge as it was for twins a their cousin.

Sometimes it’s just not practical to have 3 separate cakes at a party. But I wanted each of the girls to have their own part of the cake that was just for them, and unique for their birthday photos. Thankful my customer gave me artistic freedom with this cake. Loved how it all came together.

Had a lot of brides reach out for fall wedding cakes already! Just a fun reminder that you can add an extra wow factor to your special cake by making the top tier a floating one. Several tiers can be added below it for larger groups. Also including some fun floating birthday cakes I have made through the years. 🎂
