Game day + the perfect stay 🙌⚾️

We just returned from a quick mid-week getaway thanks to an Instagram giveaway (still can’t believe we won! 🤯).

Our prize from The Lofton Hotel included a pair of tickets to see the Minnesota Twins and a night at The Lofton Hotel.

We caught an afternoon Twins game, which was fun, and our seats were great. We could even see The Lofton Hotel from our seats (included in the pictures below).

⚾️ Twins beat Detroit 3-1 for those keeping score.

Then we checked into The Lofton Hotel, and the location could not have been better—just steps from Target Field for a Minnesota Twins game AND right by Target Center.

In honor of ELVIS PRESLEY 's 91st birthday, here's a look at his 1960 Cadillac Series 75 Fleetwood limousine on display at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville.

The exterior sheen was created with 24-karat gold-plated highlights and 40 coats of a translucent mixture of crushed diamonds and fish scales. Ask for the "Diamond Dust Pearl" if you'd like to be like Elvis. 😆

Other custom upgrades included replacing the windows with portholes, adding a telephone, a refrigerator, a refreshment bar, and not just a TV but a gold-plated television.

We're on a road trip and knocked off another presidential library. The campus of the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum is located in Visit Abilene Kansas in Kansas Tourism the boyhood hometown of Dwight David Eisenhower, where he lived until being appointed to West Point in 1911.

Eisenhower achieved the rank of 5-Star General before becoming president. He was president from 1953 to 1961.

Some significant historical events that took place during that time were: the end of the Korean War, the signing of legislation for the Interstate Highway System, and the signing of the Civil Rights Act of 1957.

The 22-acre campus includes the boyhood home, a library (research facility), museum, visitor center, place of meditation, and a bronze statue.

We loved our visit to the McHenry Riverwalk Shopped during our stay in Naturally McHenry County, Illinois.

This is a retail incubator program that allows businesses a retail space without taking on a traditional brick-and-mortar location and the expenses that come with it. The businesses apply and change out to keep things fresh.

They utilized the building trade program from the local high school for construction of the shops for some real world experience.

Businesses can test their products in McHenry while learning more about operating a retail space.

The shoppes are absolutely darling and a cute little destination along the Fox River.

Kayaks and bikes in the summer, event space for live music and performances and green space. Quite the little destination!

✨ Christmas is coming…and might just be the Midwest’s most magical holiday escape. ❄️🌲

We’re spending a few days exploring Naturally McHenry County, Illinois and this is definitely the place to come to get into the holiday spirit!

Downtown Woodstock, IL is cross between a Hallmark movie and Gilmore Girls.

Our home base is the beautiful where the movie Groundhog Day was shot as well as several Hallmark movies including the one we watched last night, Exes of Christms Past.

We watched from the cozy living room with hot chocolate and cookies.
