Zanzibar Gourmet taste the spice island About/who?

Zanzibar Gourmet was born very spontaneously in the free time of some group of friends living in Zanzibar, all of which having a strong passion for food. Among them various players in the local hospitality industry, some of them top chefs operating in Zanzibar, this was an approach to a more playful experimentation with the islands ingredients – away from professional obligations and constraints s

uch as food cost. Several times this ended in special dinners with ten to twenty friends invited, where various chefs from and beyond the island started to delight with creative multi course tasting menus in our favorite locations. Happening in a completely informal and barefoot luxury environment this presented an extremely enjoyable combination of top ingredients, skillful preparations and dream locations. The resulting evolution was setting up a tour called ‘taste the spice island’; it wants to show the incredible variety that makes the tropical Zanzibar into the ‘spice island’ to friends from overseas. The 'Taste the spice island experience' is basically a ‘classic znz trip’ with particular focus on food…
What makes tour unique is that the two tour guides are two chefs, one based on the island and the second as special guest from a top-level food establishment. Participants not only will see and taste the vast variety of spices and fruits grown on the island but also experience the traditional way of cooking as well as some the creative process leading to new interpretations in a fine dining key.
