Cafe Kipepeo

Cafe Kipepeo Kipepeo means butterfly in Kiswahili, an easy choice of name as the plot is home to hundreds of these stunning creatures. Karibuni!

As the land around becomes developed into commercial hotel ventures, they are becoming noticeably fewer as their natural habitat is destroyed. Cafe Kipepeo honours them and our beautiful, tropical garden gives them a place to rest and play. They are all free flying with no net enclosures and free to come and go at their will. Enjoy Mama Meli's legendary chocolate brownies, juices and lassis, fille

d wraps and rolls, swahili specials, snacks and bitings, while relaxing in our tranquil, verdant tropical garden... delicious homemade fare at affordable prices! You don't have to be able to visit us in person, on line friends are always welcome to pop in to the Cafe on fb and learn about our stunning butterflies and flora and fauna and about things Zanzibari - everything from our tropical fruits and Swahili cuisine to local culture and life in the village of Nungwi, here on the northern tip of the island.
