A walk between light and shadow. Hands stained with colour. Coffee shared without hurry. Conversations that become memories before anyone notices.

As , From Zambia to Switzerland, Martin Chanda brings stories shaped by distance, memory, and belonging. Now in residence at , his work invites us to slow down, look closer, and remember that art is another language for being human.

More than photographs, these are traces of people meeting, creating, listening, and sharing one cup of coffee, one conversation, one moment at a time.

In swahili we say “Karibu Sana”

Sunday in Zanzibar.

A slower pace. A good cup of coffee. A place to sit, work, read, meet people, or simply watch the day unfold.

At Asili Goods Tribes, coffee is only the beginning. This is a space for conversations, ideas, travelers, locals, creators, and curious minds.

If you’re exploring Zanzibar today, stop by and make yourself at home.

Coffee started as curiosity for me.

Then it became research. Then it became a reason to travel, to farms, communities, and conversations I never expected.

The more I learned, the more I understood something simple. Coffee is not just grown in the soil. It is grown through people.

Behind every cup is a farmer, a family, a landscape, and a tradition. Most of the time, that story never gets told.

My work now is built around changing that.

Researching coffee. Teaching it. Learning from the communities who grow it. Documenting what makes Tanzanian coffee, its tribes, its land, its culture, something worth understanding properly.

Through Asili Goods Tribes, I connect origin to people. Not as a product story. As a real one.

Because every cup has something to say, if you know how to listen.

Pull up a chair. Let’s talk coffee. ☕🌍
