To the Public Sensitive to Nature and Our Shared Geography,
As you know, we are taking firm steps forward with our 40-person Heritage Tree project, which we have been carrying out for a while to reforest our fire-damaged areas. At the end of this process, which we are close to completing together with our participants, we will bring our saplings together with the soil in November and take root for the future.
However, there is a reality that we all witness and feel: record temperatures are being experienced worldwide, particularly in Europe, and this heatwave will manifest its severe effects in our country and region over the next 2-3 months. In our forested and arid areas, even a carelessly thrown small piece of glass or a cigarette butt can lead to irreversible disasters.
Along the road route from Turunç Hill to the Akdağ region, where we previously carried out the first phase of cleanup, we noticed a lack of emergency firefighting water containers, especially in high-risk areas with no residential settlements. Acting on the crucial importance of being able to intervene within the very first seconds of a potential spark, we started establishing emergency water stations in the region.
Our core principle while carrying out this work has been zero waste awareness. Instead of purchasing new plastic, we chose to upcycle waste materials that do not pose an extra burden on nature and the environment. In our daily routines—during our morning and evening walks—we collect opaque containers from trash sides and discarded spots. We specifically prefer opaque 5, 10, and 20-liter containers so they diffuse sunlight and preserve the structure of the water inside. Using templates and spray paint, we labeled them with emergency warnings and have already set up 4-5 stations in the hill area.
Our goal is simply to fulfill our responsibility as part of this geography where we live and breathe, without seeking any publicity, visibility, or commercial gain. Our hope is that these water containers will never be needed and that our efforts, in that sense, "go to waste." However, having a ready response network to protect our forests in the event of a potential risk is an absolute necessity.
Before the heat fully sets in, we need to increase the number of these stations and place them more frequently along the risk zone. We need your support in this process:

Bildiğiniz üzere, bir süredir devam ettirdiğimiz 40 kişilik Miras Ağacı projemiz ile yangın görmüş alanlarımızı yeniden yeşertmek için emin adımlarla ilerliyoruz. Katılımcılarımızla birlikte tamamlamaya yaklaştığımız bu sürecin sonunda, Kasım ayında fidelerimizi toprakla buluşturarak geleceğe kök salacağız.
Ancak hepimizin tanık olduğu ve hissettiği bir gerçek var: Dünya genelinde ve özellikle Avrupa'da rekor sıcaklıklar yaşanıyor; bu sıcak dalgası önümüzdeki 2-3 ay boyunca ülkemizde ve bölgemizde de etkisini ciddi şekilde gösterecektir. Ağaçlık ve kurak alanlarımızda, bilinçsizce atılan küçük bir cam parçası veya bir sigara izmariti dahi telafisi imkânsız felaketlere yol açabilir.
Daha önce ilk etap temizliğini gerçekleştirdiğimiz Turunç tepesinden Akdağ bölgesine kadar olan yol güzergâhında, özellikle yerleşimin olmadığı riskli alanlarda acil durum yangın söndürme bidonlarının eksik olduğunu fark ettik. Olası bir kıvılcıma ilk saniyelerde müdahale edebilmenin hayati önem taşıdığından hareketle, bölgede acil durum su istasyonları oluşturmaya başladık.
Bu çalışmayı yürütürken temel ilkemiz sıfır atık bilinci olmuştur. Yeni plastik satın almak yerine, doğaya ve çevreye yük oluşturmayan atık durumdaki malzemeleri dönüştürmeyi tercih ettik. Günlük rutinlerimizde, sabah ve akşam yürüyüşlerimizde çöp kenarlarından ve atıl durumdaki noktalardan mat bidonları topluyoruz. Güneş ışığını kırarak suyun yapısını koruması adına özellikle mat olan 5, 10 ve 20 litrelik bidonları tercih ediyoruz. Şablon ve sprey desteğiyle üzerlerini acil durum uyarı yazılarıyla hazırladığımız bu bidonlarla tepe bölgesinde şimdiden 4-5 istasyon oluşturduk.
Amacımız hiçbir reklam, görünürlük veya ticari kaygı gütmeden; yaşadığımız, nefes aldığımız bu coğrafyanın bir parçası olarak üzerimize düşen sorumluluğu yerine getirmektir. Temennimiz bu su bidonlarına hiçbir zaman ihtiyaç duyulmaması ve emeklerimizin bu anlamda "boşa gitmesi"dir. Ancak olası bir risk anında ormanlarımızı koruyacak hazır bir müdahale ağının bulunması şarttır.
Sıcaklar iyice bastırmadan bu istasyon sayılarını artırmamız ve riskli alan boyunca sıklaştırmamız gerekiyor. Bu süreçte sizlerin de desteğine ihtiyacımız var:
