Makes Coffee Phuket

We roast small batches using state of art roasting methods and technologies. "The smell, the texture - I was obsessed and wanted to learn more".

In the late 1990's, I purchased a small espresso machine and grinder, at a time when the price of coffee-making equipment was beginning to become affordable to the general public. Once you have roasted coffee, it's got a life on it, and that's what most people don't understand. Coffee beans have a life of more than one year, roasted bean of around three weeks, and ground coffee of around 3 minutes

. I believe the four key points to making good coffee are having fresh coffee beans, a good commercial grinder, a good coffee machine and the skills to operate it. People have a right to expect good fresh coffee, but it' s hard if they've never had fresh coffee before, they don't know any better. I AM HOPING TO CARVE A NICHE FOR PEOPLE WHO ARE REAL COFFEE LOVERS.

This is Danny. Danny Makes coffee. Danny’s brand is Makes Coffee.

Danny’s passion for coffee was ignited on the back of a pick up truck on the way to work in the early mornings. After the passing of his wife, Danny decided to dive headfirst into the world of coffee roasting. What followed has been a journey of over 15 years that has seen him grow from a small garage roaster to a wholesale roastery and cafe operator.

With his new cafe .phuket and it’s roasting room, Danny worked with to create a mural dedicated to his late wife honouring their shared dream of running a coffee shop together in Thailand.

Meet Danny, your local coffee connoisseur.

Many know Danny from the infamous Phuket Coffee Lab, a longtime favorite for coffee and brunch. These days, the story continues in partnership with .phuket.

His coffee obsession started early. As a kid, he watched his parents make their morning coffee, hooked on the smell, the ritual, and the quiet start to the day. Years later, while traveling, a friend showed him a small coffee roasting machine. Danny bought one on the spot and decided coffee would be his thing for life.

More than twenty years later, he still brings the same curiosity and passion to every cup. Whether you know your beans inside out or feel lost somewhere between latte and flat white, Danny has something for you.

Now he’s introducing Makes Coffee, a range of single origin and blends he has put together with care, understanding and dose of personality, with something for every coffee drinker.

Stop by .phuket, grab a bag of freshly roasted coffee, whole beans or ground, and say hi to Danny while you are there.

At the end of this month Phuket Coffee Lab Boat Avenue will be closing its doors. As we come to the end of one chapter we’re are excited to start a brand new one as we evolve into two distinct brands.

Our first new brand is Melbourne, a café & purveyor of quality baked goods and coffee. Built within the walls that once housed the infamous Siam Supper Club, this location will also be the home of Makes Coffee, the new brand for our coffee bean roastery, distributor and service provider.

The renovation process will take some time but we will keep everyone updated as we progress and will announce our opening date soon.
