I don't know about you, but when I discover something new -- and actually like it -- I want to tell the whole world about it and that's what I want to say about Ysabelle's Inasal. A unique take on a pretty familiar dish; Inasal.
A lot of us aren't strangers to Inasal. Back in the day, Bacolod Chicken House (now known as Inasal Chicken Bacolod) reigned supreme in Luzon while in Bacolod proper, there were a slew of chicken stops called Manukan Country. More of that on another post.
Some of you might think that just because this is owned and managed by 2010 Binibining Pilipinas Contestant Dawn Matubis, you'd think that Ysabelle's would be all beauty with no brawn. Definitely not.
Ysabelle's has some really good chicken inasal.
But the thing that sets Ysabelle's apart is the dipping sauce they decided to pair it with. I will need to confirm but I believe it's spicy bagoong or some shape or form of it instead of the traditional toya mansi. A ballsy move if you ask me but a move that has paid off. Why? Because it works.
They only offer chicken inasal and it's perfectly OK. Why go to a pizza place for their burgers, right?
The one that we would normally go for is their Family Bundle with 6 whole legs, 6 services of their garlic rice with siling labuyo on top and small containers of their bagoong scattered across the elegantly designed packaging.
The taste? I mean, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, amirite? But what sets them apart is that sweet and spicy bagoong that matches beautifully well with the chicken.
Pro Tip: Bite into the siling labuyo before the first bite. Thank me later.
Give them a try, they're located down south but I think they deliver, too.
