We remember the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law today, Sept. 21, a period in Philippine history marked by censorship, repression, and human rights violations.

More than five decades later, as the country continues to confront issues that threaten truth, accountability, and democracy, we honor those who refused to be silenced by the regime. As chains once attempted to hold the truth down, may we continue to carry their stories, keep the past alive, and .
