It all started with the very first lemon cake done for a friend’s 40th birthday three years ago. Close to a hundred lemon cakes and many more cake varieties since - for friends’ birthdays, weekend potluck lunches, and many other office parties – the time has come to share these cakes in all their homebaked goodness with a bigger circle of friends. These creations are not about the fancy or anythi

ng showy. I don’t do frills or any elaborate, heavy decorations on my cakes. These cakes are meant to be savored and eaten to the last crumb. Some are light and fluffy, while others are gooey, sticky and messy in all their richness and decadence. Many a times I have seen friends hide 'take home' brownie bars and cake slices in their pots and baskets, wanting to have some for their spouse or child at home, or simply for that quiet, coffee or tea they have in mind for that afternoon. When you want to have simply delicious, nurturing cakes – for a good dinner with the family, for a warm gathering with friends, or for a special occasion with your loved ones – these are the cakes you’d like to serve. Because they are baked precisely with family, friends and loved ones in mind. They are all warmly homemade – done by a baking enthusiast who does it for the sheer joy of baking, and finds the kitchen as her sanctuary and the oven, a trusted friend.
