The Bohol Island Geopark joins the world in observing the International Day of the Worldβs Indigenous Peoples, recognizing the invaluable contributions of Indigenous Peoples in preserving cultural heritage, traditional knowledge, and sustainable practices.
This observance highlights the importance of protecting the rights, dignity, and identity of Indigenous communities while promoting greater appreciation of their role in shaping societies and safeguarding cultural and natural landscapes.
As the Philippinesβ first and only UNESCO Global Geopark, the Bohol Island Geopark remains committed to advancing cultural preservation, inclusivity, and sustainable development, honoring the rich traditions and enduring legacy of Indigenous Peoples.
