Today, we commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, a defining moment in our nationβs history that showed the world the true strength of Filipino unity.
On February 25, 1986, along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue, millions of Filipinos stood together in peaceful protest to restore democracy and reclaim our freedom. Through courage, prayer, and solidarity, the Filipino people proved that change does not always require violence; sometimes, it only takes collective faith and unwavering resolve.
The historic four-day movement led to the end of the regime of Ferdinand Marcos and the restoration of democratic leadership under Corazon Aquino. It became a global symbol of peaceful resistance and people-powered change.
Forty years later, the spirit of EDSA lives on.
β¨ May we continue to uphold truth and justice.
β¨ May we protect our democratic institutions.
β¨ May we honor the sacrifices of those who stood bravely for our freedom.
Let this anniversary remind us that when Filipinos unite for a common purpose, hope prevails and democracy endures.
Mabuhay ang diwa ng People Power!
