The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Alabel, through its Office of the Municipal Agriculturist (OMAg), officially launched "Kapehan sa MOA" (Municipality of Alabel) on Monday, March 24, at the New Municipal Hall in Alabel, Sarangani Province.
"Kapehan sa MOA" showcases the town's very own "Smile Coffee," a Robusta coffee sourced from Barangay Datal Anggas and distributed by PHILIA Business Center. Coffee enthusiasts can savor Alabel's robust brew, crafted by Geourdean Recopelacion Allada of Kape Geo.
The launching event was graced by the presence of Mayor Vic Paul Salarda, Tourism Council Chair Lilibeth "Ybing" Salarda, members of the 14th Sangguniang Bayan, OMAg Head Giselle Gestupa, and other stakeholders. Their participation underscored their unwavering support for local coffee farmers and young entrepreneurs.
This initiative represents a collaborative effort between LGU Alabel, the Datal Anggas Small Independent Group Multi-Purpose Cooperative (DASIG MPC), and the Alabel Youth Agripreneur Association. It marks a significant step in positioning Alabel as a recognized coffee-producing municipality in Sarangani Province.
The local government's support for coffee-related endeavors reflects its commitment to empowering farmers, nurturing entrepreneurship, and fostering sustainable economic development.
"Smile Coffee" is available to the public from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
