Hi everyone, firstly we’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who has reached out with messages/phone calls/visits of support over the past 2 weeks. We genuinely appreciate everybody’s kindness. Unfortunately it has come to our attention that there is a certain individual who is using our business in their hate campaign against the Clutha District Council, this person is claiming that our owner who is employed at the council has been offered a financial “incentive” and some sort of “deal” to relocate to Te Pou ō Mata Au (Balclutha community centre). This person has now taken it upon themselves to start harassing our staff members and demanding “transparency” about why we closed, claiming they have a right to know because our owner is employed at the council. At no point ever has the Council or anyone else offered any kind of deal or incentive or anything for the diner to relocate. Our reasons for closing are personal and certainly none of this persons business and for somebody to take it upon themselves to publicly slander our owner and our staff members because they need ammunition for their smear campaign is disgraceful.
