☕ WE’RE HIRING! | Sugar & Salt Café 🍳

Are you handy with a coffee cup, good with people, and able to keep your cool when everyone suddenly decides they need lunch at the exact same time? 😅

We’ve got two Cafe All-Rounder positions available at Sugar & Salt Café — one casual and one permanent.

We’re looking for someone who brings:

☕ Great customer service and communication
💪 A positive, can-do attitude
👀 Excellent attention to detail
⚡ The ability to work quickly when things get busy
😄 Good-quality banter — very important!

Previous barista or café experience would be great, but it’s not essential. If you’re keen to learn and enjoy being part of a supportive, enthusiastic team, we’d love to hear from you.

We’re after someone who can work confidently in a fast-paced kitchen, stay organised under pressure and take pride in serving consistently great food.

Permanent hours are available, with rotational weekday and weekend shifts.

Hi everyone,

Just a heads up that Sugar & Salt Café will be closed on Sunday, 19 July, while we carry out some minor maintenance.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding while we complete these works.

We’ll be back to our usual trading hours from Tuesday, ready to welcome you in for your favourite coffee, cabinet treats, and meals.

Good news for the coffee lovers, kai seekers, and “I’ll just pop in quickly” crew — Sugar and Salt Cafe will be OPEN on the Matariki public holiday.

While Ngāti Kahungunu offices and Te Kahu Hauora Practice will be closed on Friday, the cafe will still be serving up the good stuff from 7:00am – 2:00pm.
