🇳🇵 A Mature and Insightful Vision by Home Minister Sudhan Gurung for Nepal–India Relations

Nepal’s Home Minister Sudhan Gurung has presented a mature and forward-looking vision for strengthening Nepal–India relations, emphasizing cooperation over shared challenges and practical action.

In an opinion piece following his participation in the first BIMSTEC Home Ministers’ Meeting in New Delhi, Gurung highlighted the need for Nepal and India to work more closely on issues such as drug trafficking, cybercrime, terrorism and natural disasters.

Gurung stressed that these challenges do not respect national borders and therefore require faster information-sharing, stronger coordination and joint efforts.

He also highlighted the deep historical, cultural, social and economic connections between the two countries, arguing that these longstanding ties should translate into safer communities, stronger businesses and greater opportunities.

His emphasis on turning dialogue into concrete action reflects a practical and cooperative approach to Nepal’s foreign relations, particularly with its close neighbour India.
