I am alive and well
I have a lot going on these days
But i saw a Golden Eagle on the island where I do my daily runs
The colors in this picture are very vibrant but it is infuriatingly (arrrgh) difficult to take pictures that look like the painting. This does not look like the painting either but it is as close as I can get with zero professional lighting or scanning
The popcorn behind the cat (me/my alter ego) running there is supposed to be like motion running fast dust bubble things, as I am testing out painting pretty (as pretty as I can be arsed to anyway) and cartoon style together. Swish swish
Did you know absolutely none of this is made by computer? Well there you go. And the ink is natural from oak and maybe safflower and sumac (the guys at know) and other than that is aquarelle (from ) and some acrylic (black indian) ink
If you are still reading I might as well tell you the eagle is fighting a raven like on the sky to the left there, just like it did the day I saw it. I did not see it before I was further down the path tho, so this painting is from before I saw it. The other birds to the right are hooded crows. The eagle is a very young one, and it keeps eating winter fatigued woodcocks, so I have found four different remain shrines of woodcock so far on the island and collected really cool feathers
When I saw this eagle I went from having a really bad day to having a really amazing day immediately. How about that. And I stopped a guy that had just passed me and I yelled like "OY!" and "Look, guy, its an eagle!" and I had to really scream at him because the wind was very strong and he was already 10 metres passed me. But when he understood what I was screaming (and that he was not in trouble) he thought it was very cool indeed. Or at least he screamed back that they were amazing and things like that
Anyway.
Hope you are well and fed. I am bad at keeping in touch so if you have not heard from me and think I hate you, you are probably incorrect
Oh and I spent 2 days practicing painting clouds for this painting and the painting took about 6 hours after I burned the first attempt and it is A4 on cold pressed aquarelle something. I am still not happy with the clouds because clouds are mean motherf**kers to paint
