Akwa Ibom people, please… WHAT ARE WE COMPETING FOR? 😭😂
Why do we have this habit of copying everything we see working for someone else? Someone starts a business, it begins to move, and before you know it—BOOM! Everybody is doing the same thing. 😂
But here’s the part that gets me: you don’t know the sacrifices, strategies, connections, money, or years of experience that person has put into making that business work.
Now even rent is becoming a competition. 😩
Because Port Harcourt and Lagos rent is expensive, Akwa Ibom says, “Hold my beer.” 😂
₦250,000 for a self-contained room—one room, kitchen and toilet—and no water?
₦120,000 for just one room where you still share toilet? 😭
But please, let’s be realistic… where are the jobs paying these salaries?
How much is the average teacher earning?
How much is hotel staff earning?
How many big companies are actually here compared to places like Lagos and Port Harcourt?
So I’m genuinely asking: Are we developing, or are we just competing? 🤔
Because if the income isn’t increasing alongside the cost of living, who exactly are these houses being priced for?
