Hmm.
I was excited to make this cake - vintage, glitters and heart shaped - what's not to love? After baking overnight, (3am ish), it was time to decorate. But I didn't see what was coming.
My preferred brand of whipping cream was almost exhausted and would not cover this cake. My search was not fruitful and with time running out, I gave in to the "try this one, it is nice. One bakery usually buy it oh." + (did I really have much of a choice? It was almost 8pm (day before delivery date))
I was just whispering "God please, let this thing work" while whipping, following the instructions on the pack.
It didn't work oh π
Everything melted off. When I say melted off, I'd like you to picture an ice structure sitting on an elevated platform under the sun, but with faster effects. Whipping cream was all over the board and my work table.
Made a video and sent to the customer (view once, cause I was embarrassed, pained and getting late), but I have pictures of its earlier stages.(Swipe?)
I tried whipping a separate batch using my regular recipe, and that was what held to an extent, and was delivered to the customer. I was scarred. Lol.
My customer was quite patient and I thank God. But never againnn
Funny enough, my preferred brand was restocked the same night I was purchasing the "nice one". Learnt this as I roamed stores on my way back from delivering the cake.
