I have a customer in the UK who buys dried catfish, palm oil, dried goat meat, dried snails, and other Nigerian food items every quarter.
Whether she's coming to Nigeria herself or shipping them over, she dedicates almost an entire box to dried proteins
In fact, before one stock finishes, she's already planning the next order.
I even remember making a post once and saying, "This is what preparation looks like."
Well... I take that back. 😂
After spending 14 days outside Nigeria, I finally understood what she was doing.
It's beyond preparation.
It's not just about having food in the house.
It's about having something familiar, food your taste buds is familiar with
It's about not missing home too much.
It's about being able to eat the foods you've grown up with, the foods you're used to, the foods that bring comfort after a long day.

By the time I got back to Nigeria the first meal I ate was Native rice, with snail and peppered turkey 😂 Oh chimmm😂😂
