Growing up, break time in secondary school was a whole experience 😂

Garri in the bag.
Cup and spoon ready.
Cold water secured.

Then the rush to buy hot eja dindin before the queue became too long 😅

Back then, we didn’t know much about healthy eating. We just wanted enjoyment 😂

But now as an adult, I know better.

If I could advise my younger self, I would say:
“Move from eja dindin to eja yiyan.”

Especially smoked mackerel… Omo, e dey enter body well!

An Ondo person will understand this combo perfectly:
Cold water ✔️
Good garri ✔️
Smoked mackerel fish ✔️
Salt by the side ✔️
Fresh ata ibile ✔️
Pure happiness 😂

Recently, while at the market for business, I watched someone fry fish with oil that had clearly been reused several times.

Honestly, it reminded me how important food awareness is.
Fish itself is healthy and packed with protein, omega-3, and essential nutrients.

The problem is often HOW it is prepared.

Repeatedly heated oil loses quality and may produce harmful substances that are not good for the body over time.

That’s why healthier choices matter:

✨ Smoked fish over fried fish
✨ Air frying over excessive frying
✨ Fresh oil over recycled oil

At Rehoboth Culinary Services, we have a responsibility beyond profit.

We are going to encourage healthier food habits and help people eat intentionally. Because food is not just about taste, it is about life, wellness, and longevity.

And honestly, smoked mackerel with garri, cold water, fresh pepper, and a little salt?
Top-tier enjoyment 😍😂

Let’s normalize healthier local food choices ❤️

In the early days of our journey Rehoboth Culinary Services , we met a man who redefined what it means to work with excellence.

Through him, we learnt timeliness, discipline, and true customer service.

Making his meals wasn’t just work, it was a standard. Every bowl, every wrap of moi moi had to reflect quality.

I remember when he requested specific proteins that were hard to find. We asked for time to confirm availability before pricing and he agreed.

That level of understanding stayed with us.

There are people you go the extra mile for. He is one.

We once prepared a large order without upfront payment. He gave his word and kept it. No reminders needed.

That is integrity.

I have met kings, and he is one.

Today, I celebrate you.
Thank you for being a man of character and for believing in us from the beginning.

The Lord bless you abundantly.
You will not know a better yesterday.

Happy Birthday Sir

There is just something special about moimoi wrapped in our local leaves.

The taste, the aroma, the richness that comes with it.

Now imagine taking it a step further by adding fresh natural spices like ginger and garlic,
crowning it with big white onions,
and not forgetting fresh, succulent bawa.

Then we allow it steam gently in those natural leaves until the aroma begins to fill everywhere.

That is the experience we bring to you at Rehoboth Culinary Services

Because for us, healthy living is not just a phrase, it is how we cook.

Ever walked past a moimoi stall and seen leaves simply wiped with a cloth?

We don’t do that here.

At Rehoboth, our leaves are properly soaked and washed in water to remove:
• dead leaves
• worms that cling to the leaves
• hidden dirt
Because clean food matters.

It’s a beautiful new week, and your body deserves something healthy and satisfying.

Order your freshly made moimoi from Rehoboth today.

A healthy meal should never be an afterthought, it should always be a priority.

Healthy eating begins from the point of purchasing ingredients:
The freshness of the food items, the cleanliness of the environment, and the care taken during preparation.

Because a meal being cheap or expensive does not automatically make it healthy.

Now imagine a kitchen where you have a say in what goes into your food.

From the spices used, to the quality of groundnut oil, to the preparation process itself.
That is exactly what we offer.

When you patronise us Rehoboth Culinary Services you are choosing fresh, carefully prepared, home-style meals made with quality ingredients and attention to detail.

Our services include:
• Catering for events — weddings, naming ceremonies, celebrations and more
• Soup delivery in bowls
• Preparing homemade meals for guests visiting Nigeria, delivered to or cooked in your service apartment
• Our delicious Moimoi Elewe — rich, protein-filled, aromatic and unforgettable
• Food errands for families both in Nigeria and in the diaspora
• Healthy meal support for aged parents, ensuring they eat well monthly.

Whether you are married, single, busy, or caring for loved ones, we are here to make healthy eating easy for you.

Let us take care of your meals while you focus on what matters most.

We are open for business today.

A typical Saturday morning in a Yoruba home has its own rhythm, its own smell, and its own language.

It is slow, familiar, and deeply comforting.

Saturday is not rushed like Monday, and it is not quiet like Sunday. It is the day the house breathes.

You wake up to the sound of movement in the kitchen. Plates clanking, a pestle pounding pepper, the gentle hiss of hot oil.

The air is heavy with the smell of ogi, that sour, warm aroma that announces breakfast before you even open your eyes.

Someone is seated on a small stool rubbing the beans together to peel off the skin to make moimoi or akara.

Ogi ati akara nko?
This is a classic. Akara frying in the morning is almost ceremonial. The bubbling oil, the spoon dipping into the bean paste, the golden balls forming one after the other. Children gather around the kitchen, waiting impatiently, stealing hot akara and blowing on it while dancing from one foot to the other. Ogi is poured, akara is shared, and there is laughter, complaints, and negotiations about who took the biggest piece.
Akara, koko with eko.

This combination feels like a small market breakfast brought into the home. It carries the spirit of roadside stalls and early morning vendors calling out, “Eko, moin-moin!”

Saturday is also when bread enters the conversation, the soft agege bread, sometimes sliced bread. Moi moi, neatly wrapped in leaves, comes out of the pot, steaming and fragrant with pepper, oil, and fish. Bread is torn, dipped, paired, shared.

Beyond the food,
Saturday morning in a Yoruba home is about togetherness.

People sit in the living room or outside under a mango tree. Radios play Yoruba music or news. Someone is sweeping the compound, someone is washing clothes, someone is preparing for the market or an outing. Conversations flow from family matters to church plans, from old stories to neighborhood gist.

Saturday breakfast is not just food.
It is memory.
It is culture.
It is home..

At Rehoboth Culinary Services ,

We celebrate these local flavors and prepare them with care, taste, and excellence, bringing the comfort of home to your table.

This morning at the market, I learnt another life lesson, never fall for “E sha se mi daada.”

I needed someone to help me carry 2 bagco bag of loads. I looked around and saw a woman. I intentionally avoid using elderly people for this kind of work. I can’t put a load on the head of someone old enough to be my mother, my conscience will not allow me do that.

So I asked her, “How much will you charge for this?”

She smiled and said, “E sha se mi daada.”
I laughed and told her, “Ma, e sha se mi daada is not a price.”

She repeated it and added, “Ohun o ki n se ẹni wahala.”

That was when I knew that I needed to get someone else.

Because when you don’t agree on a price from the beginning, you may pay with your peace later.

At the destination, the load will drop, the voice will rise, the market will turn to courtroom, and before you know it, you are the villain of the day.

People will gather, stories will multiply, and curses will start flying like bees.

So I gently declined and looked for another alábo.

I saw a young boy, asked him for his price, clear and direct. He gave me his price. We agreed, carried the load, no drama.

When we got to where I was headed to, I paid him and added extra, he almost prostrated for me.

Lesson of the day:
“E sha se mi daada” is not kindness—it is potential wahala in disguise.
Market wisdom 101.

Happy New Week
