CAN POOR FEED DISTRIBUTION REDUCE EGG PRODUCTION?

I discovered something in my poultry today…

Some sections had feed, while some had almost none. 😳

It reminded me that giving the right quantity of feed is not enough—proper distribution and regular raking matter too.

*Do you check your feeders throughout the day?

EGG PRODUCTION UPDATE

Today — 21 weeks + 1 day: 47% production

We got 8 crates + 25 eggs = 265 eggs from 564 birds.

Yesterday: 41%

From 41% yesterday to 47% today — that’s a beautiful increase in just one day! 🙏🏽

We are documenting every step of this journey.

Don’t let someone else’s market determine how you raise your broilers.

Your market determines your production.

5 weeks, 6 weeks or 7 weeks—what matters is understanding what your customers want and what your market is ready to buy.

Know your market before you raise your birds.

Farmers, which ni**le drinker is better for battery cages?

Ni**le drinker with cup
or
Ni**le drinker without cup?

I’ve used both, and I’m finding the one with the cup more difficult to clean and maintain, especially with birds already in the cages.

And for those using the one with cup, how do you clean it, and how often do you clean it? 👇🏽

Dear farmers, zero mortality or low mortality—which one should we preach?

What is your experience?

Is zero mortality really possible in poultry farming, or should our goal be to keep mortality as low as possible?

21 weeks on the farm, and these girls have started showing me another side of poultry farming.

Bullying and egg eating are becoming part of the challenge, so we’ve increased our routine checks and now pick eggs three times a day to stay ahead of it.

But I know I’m not the only farmer who has faced this.

Farmers, what did you do when you noticed bullying or egg eating in your flock? What worked for you?
