Very disappointed order.
As I spent the whole of Thursday baking washing mixing my buttercream washing dishes than chilling the cakes and making my fondant decors than putting everything together... on top of looking after my son n doing my household work.
I finally finished everything around 7pm at night while missing the proper time to eat. It was a very stressful day.
Now to make it worse the day of the pick up. The client did not show up. After several messages reminding them to make a deposit n also reminding them at the warf, to their reply "Don't wori I'll pay the full amount when I pick up the cake"
This was someone I have know and am very close to the family.. and as I have a soft spot for children I gave them the benefit of the doubt.. but it bit me in the a$$ ...
They did not show up
They did not pay for the cake which was custom to their preference
They did not come a day early to tell me they did not want it anymore or would like to cancel their order....
And like an idiot I waited the whole day worried that if they came to pick the cake up I would not be at home or if I fell asleep I would not hear them calling so I waited...
Now to be finally crushed in the evening when I find out the birthday has ended an they had gotten the birthday cake from someone els...
If it was someone random I wouldn't have been so hurt. But because it was someone close the betrayal was worse n I spent the evening being emotional...
Close family members said i should have taken the deposit n it was my fault for baking without any deposit being done......... but the fact of the matter is you should have had the decency to let me know if you didnt want the cake or if you were having trouble paying or simply changed your mind...
Lesson learnt..
