My co-author and son Nathaniel Dawkins, is an outspoken, animated and energetic four-year-old child. He is a critical thinker who regularly uses expressions beyond his years. Nathaniel is kind, compassionate and determined to change the world.
He enjoyed writing this book, as it has enabled him to share his love for learning with other boys and girls; while addressing some concerns that most children like himself may have before starting school.
We hope that our book will help to bring comfort and settle anxieties that both children and parents may have about this new journey, called school.

This book is the perfect gift for preschoolers, kindergarteners and elementary schoolers, as it provides the right balance between entertainment and encouragement, while still being educational.
The book gives children a bit of an understanding of what they should expect when they start school.
It has colorful and detailed illustrations that follows an interesting storyline.
The book is a great way to encourage children to express their anxieties about starting school. Children are often nervous about starting school, as it is a new environment, new routine, new faces and teachers. This story is a lovely way to address some of the worries that children may have and put their minds at ease.
Parents / Guardians
The story offers some guidance on managing children's expectations of school, and it is a lovely way to open talks with children about their concerns of starting school.
Given that the story gives children an insight into what to expect at school, it can instigate questions that they may have about starting school. The book may help with these kinds of conversations.
Some families may not know how to discuss this topic with their child or they may not consider that their child maybe nervous. This book is a great tool to support them in doing so.
