Regarding my food truck stolen in Maltacraz: for those who don't know the sad story, please visit my profile where you can find the first part.

Dear Maltese people, I am aware that I will likely never recover my stolen work vehicle, but being someone who does not easily give up, I will continue to make posts. Firstly, to update all those who have offered words of comfort and solidarity, and secondly, because I want to make known how disgracefully the Maltese police and Minister Byron Camilleri, Malta's Minister for Security, have behaved—who, without any shame, has blocked me to avoid being tagged.

I don't expect the Minister to personally conduct the investigation, but at the very least, he could engage with the police to review all street cameras at the entrances and exits of Vjal L-Indipendenza in Mosta. Instead, he merely wrote that I would be contacted by the police, which never happened. You should be ashamed of yourself, Minister. You and those who voted for you to hold the position you occupy should be ashamed.

The police's incompetence and inability to conduct investigations is evident when they ask me, the "victim," to indicate which cameras they should review. So I wonder: are they incapable or simply indifferent? I would say a mixture of both. In the investigation, I have certainly taken more steps from Italy than they have on the ground.

I write all this to bring this shameful story to everyone's attention, partly as an outlet for my frustration and partly because I want to expose all the authorities who cover up Maltese wrongdoings with a layer of deceit—authorities who are adept at covering for each other, burying evidence and scandals. Among the most despicable examples is the story of poor Dafne Caruana Galizia, who still awaits justice and perhaps never will receive it. These people have tarnished Malta's image in everyone's eyes.

Malta has become racist and exploitative, and there is a great sense of ingratitude toward those who have invested in and contributed to its growth and wealth. Personally, I believe that racism is the highest form of ignorance.

I will keep you updated and truly thank you from the bottom of my heart for the many messages of solidarity I have received. I wish you all a peaceful Easter. If you wish to share my story, I would appreciate it—please do so if, like me, you would never want to hear about disgraceful incidents like what happened to me. Work vehicles should be off-limits! Anyone who steals them lacks dignity and honor.

Happy Easter to everyone,

Dear Minister Byron Camilleri

I am writing this open letter to bring to your personal attention a very unfortunate incident that has occurred in Malta.

Allow me to introduce myself: I am Antonio Patanè, an Italian citizen who moved to Malta 20 years ago, full of enthusiasm to begin a new life. I started my own business, became a partner in a restaurant venture, and everything was going wonderfully. I felt welcomed with open arms, made many Maltese friends, and immediately felt at home. I experienced Malta in a truly special way, spending ten years there filled with both professional and personal satisfaction.

Later, I developed a desire to travel and explore the world. After another decade of business ventures across England, Brazil, the Philippines, and England again, I decided to return to the place where I had left a piece of my heart: Malta.

I invested all my savings to purchase a trailer and convert it into a food truck (I am a working person, not a wealthy individual). It was a dream to which I dedicated my soul; I went into debt, but with great determination and perseverance, I can say I succeeded. I was happy and, despite the challenges, managed to obtain a Maltese license to operate on the island. It represented the livelihood for my son.

Today, I find myself writing this open letter because on the night between March 16th and 17th, while I was in Italy for health reasons and my food truck was parked in Mosta on Vjal L-Indipendenza, it suddenly disappeared. I was confined to bed and couldn't even stand up, so I could do nothing but suffer over what had happened.

As soon as I was able, I rushed to Malta to report the incident at the Mosta police station, where a sergeant recorded my complaint. To date, however, I have not received any updates.

I understand that investigations may take time, and I recognize that due to my health issues, I could not act immediately. Nevertheless, Malta should be one of the safest places in the world regarding street theft. The island is equipped with numerous public and private cameras; a vehicle like mine cannot simply vanish into thin air.

Such a reprehensible act deserves to be punished with the utmost severity. I expect maximum effort from the competent authorities to resolve this vile deed. Those responsible, regardless of their nationality, must be punished for their lack of moral dignity and respect.

I hope this letter will help activate the wheels of justice. I place my trust in you, Minister, hoping that my work vehicle will be found and that those responsible for this despicable act will be identified.

I wish to continue considering Malta as a happy island, therefore I count on your integrity and your serious commitment as the administrator of Malta's security.

I apologize for tagging you on social media, but I have chosen to write publicly to ensure this message reaches all the competent authorities and to bring this matter directly to your attention as Minister.

I am attaching a photograph of my missing work vehicle.

I extend my most sincere and cordial greetings, confident in your commitment, and thank you in advance.

Faithfully yours,
Antonio Patanè.
